LASER low bookcase

A low LASER bookcase on three doors. Open cells alternate with closed ones, the compartments come in different sizes, and the front adds up to a geometric pattern.

How it is built

Three doors close part of the cells and the rest stay open. The division is deliberately uneven: narrow compartments next to wide, low next to tall. Toys, books and school kit spread across differently sized nests instead of piling into one heap.

Who it suits

127 cm tall: a child reaches the top shelf unaided, with no chair. At 84 cm wide the bookcase stands beside a desk and carries the working area on.

Materials and finish

Dimensions: 84 cm long, 40 cm deep, 127 cm high.

Carcass and fronts in laminated chipboard. The finish is built on three decors: platinum grey, black pearl and alpine white. No handles are fitted, the front is opened by its edge, hinges are concealed, drawers ride roller runners and the feet are plastic. Meble Wojcik factory, Poland.

Frequently asked questions

Can the cell colour be changed?
Yes, a choice of two: muted blue or chili red. Only the blue was ever photographed, which is why the card shows it.

How many doors are there?
Three. The other cells stay open, and that is part of the drawing of the front.

Can the shelves be moved?
No, the division is set by the carcass. That is rather the point: the uneven rhythm of cells is the decorative idea of the model.
