What to measure before ordering
Allow 60 cm of length and 40 cm of depth per person. Around the table, on the sides where people walk, you need another 80 to 90 cm: that is what a pulled out chair takes together with the person getting up. If the table extends, look at the open size, because that is what has to fit the room along with a walkway.
Chair height against table height
Between the seat and the underside of the top there should be 27 to 32 cm. A dining table is made about 75 cm high, so it takes a chair with a 45 cm seat.
