Modular hallways from Poland

Modular hallways from Poland: cabinets, shoe storage, hooks and mirrors

In a hallway the modular principle matters more than anywhere else: a ready set is designed for a corridor of ideal width, and ideal corridors do not exist.

Why a ready hallway set often will not fit

A corridor in an Israeli flat is rarely wider than 120 to 140 cm, and there is almost always something in the way: the front door opens inwards, a consumer unit sits on the wall, a projection or an alcove interrupts the middle. A ready set comes in one length, and if it does not match, the set has to be broken up. With a modular collection you take exactly the pieces that fit, in whatever order the wall allows.

What people usually combine

ModuleWhat to keep in mind
Cabinet or tall unitThe main storage. In a narrow corridor take 35 to 40 cm depth rather than the standard 60.
Shoe unitTilting compartments bring the depth down to 25 to 30 cm, but tall shoes will not go in.
Coat rail or hook panelFor outdoor clothing that does not get put away.
MirrorOften part of the same series, so the frame matches the decor.
Bench or low unitFor putting shoes on sitting down. Needs at least half a metre of free wall.

Measure the corridor at its narrowest point, not by the front door, and check separately which way the door swings. If it opens inwards, a metre of wall behind it is taken permanently, and no module will go there however narrow it is.

What is nearby

Ready hallway sets are in Hallways. Separately, shoe cabinets and coat stands.
