An under sink system is bought once every few years; its modules are bought regularly. It is the modules, not the housing, that decide what comes out of the tap.
Why as a set rather than singly
The stages work in sequence: each removes its own share and passes the water on. Change one cartridge while leaving its neighbour spent, and the water still goes through the old module, so the result is set by the weakest link. That is why the manufacturer supplies sets, and why changing the whole lot at once is the right approach.
How to tell it is time

| Capacity in litres | The main figure. It is on the module page. The number in months is a conversion for average consumption. |
| Pressure has dropped | The cartridge is mechanically blocked. There is no sense in waiting. |
| The taste is back | The sorbent is exhausted. Filtration has stopped even if the water still flows normally. |
Before ordering, check the marking on your own module rather than the name of the system. Over the years AQUAPHOR has built the same system with different stage sets, and reading the code on the cartridge itself is more reliable than going by the device name.
