Hallway units and shoe cabinets in stock: depth for a narrow corridor
The hallway is the one room where furniture gets in the way of living if you are wrong about the depth by even ten centimetres.
Depth decides everything
A corridor in an Israeli flat is rarely wider than 120 to 140 cm. An ordinary 60 cm deep cabinet swallows half the passage, and two people can no longer pass each other. So hallways take either shallow carcasses of 35 to 40 cm, or narrow shoe units with tilting compartments, where shoes stand at an angle and the depth drops to 25 to 30 cm.
Measure the corridor at its narrowest point, not by the front door. And check which way the front door swings: if it opens inwards, a metre of wall behind it is taken permanently.
About tilting shoe units. They are the most compact, but they have a limit: tall shoes and boots will not go in. If a winter pair lives in the hallway all year round, you need at least one compartment with an ordinary shelf.
