Sliding wardrobes in Israel: doors need no space in front
A sliding wardrobe has one decisive advantage: no floor has to be kept free for an opening door.
Models by HELVETIA and Israeli makers. If the walkway in front is clear, compare with hinged wardrobes: at the same price they usually offer more usable depth.
The convenience has a price: the sliding mechanism takes roughly 8 to 10 cm of depth, and one panel always covers half the wardrobe. In a narrow unit sliding loses more than it gains; in a wide one it saves a whole metre of walkway.
