FLEXI 52 cm bookcase

A tall, narrow FLEXI bookcase: five open compartments and a drawer at the base. The sides are rounded over their whole height, leaving no sharp arrises.

How it is built

Five open tiers climb one above another to nearly two metres. A drawer sits at the bottom for whatever should stay out of sight. The rounding is carried onto the sides of that drawer as well: the factory notes separately that this is safer in a small child’s room.

Who it suits

52 cm across the front at a height of almost 193.5 cm: the bookcase takes a narrow band of wall and holds a whole school year of books. It stands well flush to a wardrobe, carrying that line upward.

Materials and finish

Dimensions: 52 cm long, 42 cm deep, 193.5 cm high.

Carcass in laminated chipboard, fronts in MDF. The palette is white: Alpin White on the carcass, Supermat and Billbergia on the fronts, with Cool Grey added on the shelves. The horizontal grooves are milled into the fronts, not applied battens. No handles are fitted: the front is gripped by its rounded edge. Concealed hinges, drawers on ball bearing full extension runners, plastic feet. Meble Wojcik factory, Poland.
