RAVENNA PC: a table with a lower shelf and a milled rail

A rectangle of 90 by 60 is the size at which a table stops blocking the way between sofa and armchair yet still holds a tray and a laptop. A rail runs along the long side carrying the same diamond milling as on the collection's fronts. It is held up by black metal legs.

Who it suits

In front of the sofa in a living room. The lower shelf takes what usually piles up on the top: magazines, remotes, the book being read.

What you will like

two surfaces: the top and a shelf beneath it
a rail along the long side with the same diamond milling as the fronts
43 cm tall, level with a sofa seat
square corners, so it pushes right up to the sofa
support: black metal legs

Length 90 cm, width 60 cm, height 43 cm. The height follows a sofa seat: a cup stands at hand level with no reaching down.

What fits on the lower shelf of a RAVENNA table? The shelf spans the whole area of the top, 90 by 60 cm. Stacks of magazines, a board game or a throw all go there.

Why is the table rectangular rather than round? A rectangle sits flush against the sofa and leaves no dead corner. A round one wins where people walk around it instead of sitting on one side.

Materials and finish

Carcass in laminated board, rail in milled MDF. Finish: black matt with black gloss. Support: black metal legs. Warranty 12 months. BIM Furniture, Poland.

Frequently asked questions

Will cups scratch the top?
Laminate stands up to household use, but hot and wet things belong on a coaster, as on any foil-faced board.

Is the table steady on slim legs?
The support bolts at the corners to the underside, and the lower shelf ties the structure so it cannot work loose.

More about this piece

Laminated chipboard

Wood particles pressed into a solid board and faced with laminate on both sides. The workhorse of cabinet furniture: holds its shape, tolerates everyday moisture, wipes clean.

MDF board

Wood fibres bonded under pressure make a panel denser than chipboard. It holds milled patterns and curved profiles, so fronts with relief are made of it.

Gloss finish

Reflects light and makes a piece look lighter. Fingerprints show more on dark gloss, so it needs wiping more often.

Matt finish

No reflections, and it hides fingerprints and light scratches. In a small room it reads calmer than gloss.

Milled front

The pattern is cut into the panel itself rather than glued on, so it is felt by hand and cannot come away.

Metal supports

Metal legs or a frame carry weight better than plastic and do not work loose. On cabinet furniture the gap underneath also lets you clean below the piece.

Manufacturer warranty

The factory warranty runs 12 месяцев from delivery. It covers material and assembly defects, but not natural wear or damage caused by misuse.

Made in Poland

Shipped straight from the factory, built to European furniture manufacturing standards.
