TV unit RAVENNA B 200 cm, 4 doors, white mat, black frame

A television unit two metres long with four doors. The length suits a large panel: a 65-inch screen leaves room at either side, so the unit does not look shorter than the television. Vertical dividers split the carcase into four closed bays of equal height.

The black frame runs under the carcase along its full two metres and draws the eye: a white volume above, a dark line below. The support lifts the unit off the floor, and a short-pile rug beneath it is not rucked up.

A white matt surface two metres wide throws no glare, and in a darkened room the unit does not bounce the screen back at you during a film. Dust shows less on matt white than on black, so it needs wiping less often.

Who it suits

For a long wall and a large screen. Four bays let equipment be sorted by purpose: a receiver in one, a games console in another, the rest held in reserve. There are no open shelves, so dust does not gather in view.

What you will like

two metres in one carcase – no joint in the middle of the wall
vertical dividers instead of shelves – tall equipment fits in whole
fluted fronts: the ribs run vertically and do not break between leaves
the black frame holds the carcase clear of the floor, which stays visible
the RAVENNA range is made in one finish, so a room can be furnished in stages

Materials and finish

The carcase is laminated chipboard, the four doors are milled MDF with a foil finish in white mat. The base is black metal. Length 200, depth 42, height 58 cm. Warranty 12 months. Factory BIM Furniture, Poland.

Frequently asked questions

Where do the cables from the equipment go?
The back panel stops short of the bottom, so leads pass back and down under the unit instead of lying across the top. A socket is best kept behind the carcase, reached from below through the gap under the frame.

More about this piece

Laminated chipboard

Wood particles pressed into a solid board and faced with laminate on both sides. The workhorse of cabinet furniture: holds its shape, tolerates everyday moisture, wipes clean.

MDF board

Wood fibres bonded under pressure make a panel denser than chipboard. It holds milled patterns and curved profiles, so fronts with relief are made of it.

Matt finish

No reflections, and it hides fingerprints and light scratches. In a small room it reads calmer than gloss.

Milled front

The pattern is cut into the panel itself rather than glued on, so it is felt by hand and cannot come away.

Fluted front

Vertical slats or grooves run across the face, drawing the eye upwards and playing with light to lift an otherwise plain carcase.

Manufacturer warranty

The factory warranty runs 12 месяцев from delivery. It covers material and assembly defects, but not natural wear or damage caused by misuse.

Made in Poland

Shipped straight from the factory, built to European furniture manufacturing standards.
