Chests and sideboards on high legs

A chest on high legs loses one storage tier compared with the same chest on a plinth – but no dust builds up underneath, the kind you only discover when you move house.

The bottom drawer of such a chest opens above the clearance, so measure the leg height too, not just the body: at 12 cm the bottom drawer sits around 15 cm off the floor, which makes it awkward for heavy things.
