The largest subsection of the self assembly range, and not by accident: a desk and a shelving unit are exactly the pieces that go together in an hour without a fitter.
The kinds of desk

Shelving
The subsection holds open shelving and cube style bookcases. In a unit with narrow bays the shelf cannot sag under books by virtue of its construction, whereas a wide span develops that problem over time. If a library is the plan, look at the width of each bay rather than the overall width of the carcass.
Tall shelving has to be screwed to the wall even if it stands steadily. An empty unit is light, and in a home with children this is a requirement rather than a suggestion. The bracket is usually in the box; the plug to suit your wall is bought separately, because the factory does not know whether you have concrete or plasterboard.
