Amalfi narrow velvet recliner – for compact living rooms

If you live in a rented two-room flat in central Tel Aviv, a seaside studio, or any apartment where there are only 80 cm between the sofa and the wall – Amalfi is built exactly for that space. This is the narrowest recliner in our range, and still a full reclining chair with a tilting back, footrest, and soft velvet upholstery – not a stripped-down version.

The velvet here is not luxury for show but a practical choice. It handles daily use well, does not creak like faux leather, feels warm in winter and is not sticky in summer. Black or grey – two neutral colours that fit any interior from Scandinavian to oriental.

What you will like

Narrow 95 cm width – fits niches between sofa and wall, wardrobe and window – spaces where a standard recliner simply will not go
Locking recline mechanism – not free-tilting under weight – the back locks in the chosen angle and holds, you can sleep sitting up
Velvet with reinforced padding – soft but does not collapse, keeps its shape after a year of daily use
80 cm depth – works for shorter people (full back support) and people over 180 cm tall (feet reach the floor in upright position)
103 cm height – back reaches the head of an average adult – somewhere real to rest your neck
Best value in the category – the most affordable full recliner in the Shuk Rehut range

Amalfi is for small spaces. Renting a flat and not willing to invest in bulky furniture that will not move with you in a year? Take it. Living in a studio and need a separate resting spot outside the bed? Take it. Want a second chair next to your sofa but a wide one will not fit? This is your option.

Frequently asked questions

Will Amalfi fit a 100 cm niche between sofa and wall?
Yes, with room to spare. Chair width is 95 cm – leaving 2.5 cm on each side for cleaning. Just remember the recline mechanism needs about 50 cm of clear space behind the backrest – the back slides backward when opening.

Will velvet get shiny from pets or trap fur?
Velvet on Amalfi has a short, dense pile – cat and dog hair does not get tangled in it like in long pile. Claw marks are only possible if the animal actively scratches the upholstery. Cleans with a soft brush or vacuum with an upholstery attachment.
