ISLA MEBIN collection
ISLA is recognised by its grooves. Vertical flutes are cut into the wood itself and run from edge to edge of the front, beside a smooth plane of lacquered MDF carrying an insert of that same fluted wood. The third material in the row is tinted Antisol glass with an LED strip lit behind it.
There are no handles at all: doors and drawers release under a push, the push to open system, and the pattern of grooves is never broken. The bodies stand on black steel bases rather than plinths, so even a two metre cabinet never reads as heavy.
The living and dining rooms are covered end to end: six display and bar cabinets, eight chests in two heights, four TV units with an open niche, two wall panels, two shelves and two open shelving units. Four tables: a dining table reaching 240 cm, a transformer that lifts from 59 to 77 cm, and two coffee tables.
The chairs the factory makes in beech rather than oak, and says so outright: in a chair the load runs through slender sections and beech takes it better. There are two, ISLA with a rounded back and FAROS with a tall upholstered one.
Finish
The wood is the same in both finishes, rustikal. The insert differs: black notte or white bianco. The choice sits on each product page and the price is identical.
