Hallway furniture

Hallway furniture in Israel: cabinets, shoe storage, hooks and mirrors
A hallway is the narrowest space in a flat, and furniture here is chosen by depth rather than looks: every extra 10 cm comes out of the walkway.

A hallway can be put together two ways. As a ready set, where colour and height already agree – those are in Modular hallways. Or piece by piece, taking only what is needed:
| What is needed | What for |
|---|---|
| Shoe cabinets and racks | The main piece of a hallway. Narrow tilting models save walkway. |
| Coat stands | Free-standing and wall-mounted, for outerwear by the door. |
| Consoles | A narrow table for keys, post and small things. |
A practical rule for a narrow corridor: the combined depth of furniture along one wall should not take more than a third of the passage width. In a 120 cm corridor that is about 40 cm for furniture, so an ordinary 60 cm wardrobe will not fit, while a narrow 25 to 30 cm shoe rack will.
When space is very tight
A wall-mounted rail instead of a free-standing stand, a tilting shoe rack instead of a shelved chest, and a mirrored front instead of a separate mirror – three choices that together free up to half a metre of passage.
