TV stands and shelves from stock in Israel

TV stands and wall shelves in stock: height set to eye level
A TV stand is chosen not for its looks but for the eye height of whoever will be watching.
Height and width
The centre of the screen should fall at roughly the eye level of a seated person, which is 100 to 110 cm from the floor. A stand about 50 cm high plus a television on its own foot usually lands in that range. A 70 cm stand lifts the screen too high, and after an hour of watching your neck notices.
In width, the stand should be no narrower than the television, and better 20 cm wider on each side: that way the composition does not look top heavy, and there is room for a set top box and a speaker.
About cables
Check whether the back panel has a cable cut-out. Without one the leads run over the back, the stand no longer sits flush to the wall and the room loses 3 to 5 cm of depth. The cut-out is stated on the product page or visible in a photograph of the back.
If the television is wall mounted, a stand is still needed, but a low one and only for the equipment. In that case look at wall shelves too: a pair of shelves for the box often solves the problem better than a stand.
