| Feature | What it gives |
|---|---|
| Panelled front | The door is built from a frame and an infill rather than cut from one sheet. It creates shadow and relief. |
| Symmetry | The composition builds from the centre: a display cabinet in the middle, matching sections either side. |
| Cornice and plinth | Top and bottom are marked by a projecting rail, so the piece reads as an object rather than part of the wall. |
| Divided glazing | Cabinet doors are broken into panes by glazing bars instead of staying one clear sheet. |
| Hardware | Visible handles, often in a bronze or brass finish, rather than hidden push catches. |
What the section holds
Living room wall units, glazed display cabinets, TV stands and chests of drawers. The section is built from models by the Israeli supplier KURATOR, so the compositions agree with each other in style and finish, and pieces from different models can stand side by side.
Classic needs distance. Panelling, cornice and relief read from two or three metres away and turn into clutter close up. In a small living room a classic wall unit running the full width eats the room visually more than a modern one of the same length. If the room is small, take a display cabinet or a chest as an accent rather than a whole unit.
