TYTAN wall unit: graphite, open niches and room for books

TYTAN is gathered around a narrow shelving column with open niches. It stands vertically beside the cabinet and takes on everything that usually drifts around a room: books, remotes, boxes, plants. Grafit oak holds the dark base, cashmere lightens the fronts, and the composition avoids looking heavy despite the deep tone.

What it consists of

A wall-hung TV cabinet, a narrow column with open compartments of varying height, and a wall unit above it. The compartments have no doors, so anything inside is one movement away. Overall height is 140 cm and the depth only 35 cm.

Who it suits

People who read and would rather not hide books behind glass. It also answers well in a room shared with a teenager or used for work: open niches beat closed shelves when you reach for things daily. Graphite settles nicely against pale and green walls.

Materials and finish

Laminated chipboard, Grafit oak body and cashmere fronts, matt finish with no gloss. ASM Meble factory, Poland.

Frequently asked questions

How many books fit the column?
The compartments vary in height, so both ordinary books and large-format albums stand upright. The exact count depends on how thick they are.

Is dust a problem in open niches?
They are easier to wipe than glass doors: flat surfaces with no corners or seals.

What diagonal suits it?
The cabinet runs 210 cm, which carries a 65 inch panel without crowding it.

Does graphite look black?
No, it is a dark grey with visible timber grain. Against a light wall it reads softer than pure black.

More about this piece

Laminated chipboard

Wood particles pressed into a solid board and faced with laminate on both sides. The workhorse of cabinet furniture: holds its shape, tolerates everyday moisture, wipes clean.

Gloss finish

Reflects light and makes a piece look lighter. Fingerprints show more on dark gloss, so it needs wiping more often.

Matt finish

No reflections, and it hides fingerprints and light scratches. In a small room it reads calmer than gloss.
