TV stand: floor-standing and wall-hung

TV stands in Israel: floor standing and wall hung, with drawers and shelves

Widths run roughly from 40 to 265 cm, with both floor-standing models and wall-hung ones that free up the floor.

Stands by the Polish factories HELVETIA, MEBLE WJ, ASM MEBLE, MEBIN and LASKI, plus Israeli makers. Exact dimensions differ by model and are on the product page. If a chest rather than a stand is wanted under the television, see Chests of drawers; models with a built-in fireplace are in Wall units with electric fireplaces.

Two measurements decide it. Width: the stand should be wider than the television base, otherwise the arrangement looks unstable, and with a wall mount the screen appears to overhang the furniture. Height: the centre of the screen sits comfortably at seated eye level, roughly 100 to 110 cm from the floor, so a low sofa calls for a lower stand.

Floor-standing or wall-hung

Type	What it gives	What to keep in mind
Floor-standing	More stable, more volume inside, no need for a solid wall.	The floor beneath has to be worked around when cleaning.
Wall-hung	Floor stays clear, the room feels larger, easy to clean under.	Needs a solid wall and careful mounting.

What is inside

Most models combine a closed section for set-top boxes and cables with an open niche for anything that needs ventilation or a clear line to the remote. With a lot of equipment, look at the number of compartments rather than the total length: a long stand with one bay holds less than a short one with three.
