Wall mirrors for the hallway and bedroom

Wall mirrors in Israel: framed, in solid oak and with lighting
A mirror is the one furnishing that changes how a room feels while taking up nothing in it. But that only works in the right place.
Where to hang it for it to count
A mirror opposite a window bounces light and noticeably lifts a narrow windowless corridor, usually the darkest corner of a flat. A mirror on a long wall widens the room visually. A mirror facing the front door or directly facing the bed, on the other hand, is rarely welcome: in the first case people startle at their own reflection, in the second the reflection is visible at night.
Height
The centre of the mirror hangs at eye level, roughly 155 to 165 cm from the floor. Above a console or a chest the reckoning is different: leave 20 to 25 cm between the top and the bottom edge of the mirror, or it reflects the unit and what is on it rather than the person.
With and without lighting
Lighting around the frame gives even light from the front, with no shadows under the eyes or the chin. For makeup and shaving that is decisive, and overhead light from a ceiling fixture is no use: it falls from above and draws shadows exactly where there should be none. In a hallway lighting is not essential; there a mirror is for taking yourself in at a glance.
A mirror is heavier than it looks, and the weight rests on two points. Choose the fixing by the wall: an ordinary plug in concrete, a full length expanding one in block, and in plasterboard only a butterfly anchor or a screw into the metal stud behind the sheet. Plugs are not in the box, because the factory does not know what you are drilling into.
