Hinged-door wardrobe

Hinged wardrobes in Israel: with shelves and a hanging rail

Widths run roughly from 37 to 246 cm: narrow single-door units and wardrobes that fill a wall.

Wardrobes by MEBLE WJ, HELVETIA, MEBIN, LASKI, MEBLOCROSS and Israeli makers. If space in front is tight, see Sliding wardrobes, whose doors do not swing out. A dead corner is covered by corner wardrobes.

A hinged door needs clear floor in front roughly equal to its own width. For a 50 cm door that is half a metre of walkway which cannot be taken by a bed or a chest. In return the wardrobe opens fully: everything is visible at once and nothing gets lost in the depth.

Choosing the width

Size	When it is chosen
Narrow, one door	For an alcove, a short wall, or as an addition to the main wardrobe.
Two doors	The basic option for one person: rail plus shelves.
Three doors and wider	For two people, or a whole season of clothes at once.
Wall-wide	When the wardrobe replaces a dressing room and there is no other storage.

What is inside

The interior differs by model: some have only a rail and shelves, others add drawers or a section for long garments. The exact layout and dimensions are on the product page. Children models are listed separately in Children wardrobes.
