Beds with Storage in Israel — What to Check Before Ordering
Beds with Storage in Israel — What to Check Before Ordering
A bed with storage solves a real problem in a small bedroom, but it's not always worth the extra cost and weight. Main types in Israel: side drawers, front drawers (under the mattress) and lift mechanism. Before ordering — measure the elevator or stairs, check the floor, and make sure there's space for the drawers to open.

Compact bed with storage: check the elevator, stairs, and clearance space before ordering.
When Is a Storage Bed Really Worth It?
A storage bed makes sense if the room is small (up to 12 m²), there's no large wardrobe, and you need extra space for blankets, pillows, or clothes. It's not suitable for narrow children's rooms where an open drawer would block passage, or if the room already has a separate storage system.
Main Mechanism Types in Israel

Side Drawers
Open from the side of the bed. Require ~60 cm of free space beside the bed. Suitable for rooms where the bed is pushed against one wall.
Plus: simple manual operation
Front Drawers
Open from the front, under the mattress. Require 70–80 cm of free space in front of the headboard. Often used in children's and youth rooms.
Note: smaller volume
Lift Mechanism (gas spring)
The bed base lifts up, opening large storage space. Suitable for blankets and large pillows. Requires ~50 cm of free space above the headboard.
Note: heavy frame
Closed Box with Door
Closed storage in box form — maximum volume, full access. Not always convenient to open in a narrow room.
Plus: maximum volumeWhat to Check Before Ordering
- Elevator: measure width × depth × diagonal of the elevator opening. Standard elevator: roughly 70×110 cm. A 160×200 bed barely fits.
- Stairs: width of the inner turn, step height. If the turn is narrow — it won't fit.
- Floor: in old buildings without a service elevator, manual carrying to 3rd floor and above can be expensive.
- Manof (crane lift): needed when there's no service elevator. Costs a few hundred shekels, depending on floor and bed size.
- Free space in the room: side drawer — 60 cm beside the bed. Front drawer — 70–80 cm in front of the headboard.
- Mattress height: some mechanisms are limited to mattresses up to 22–25 cm.
- Opening direction: if the bed is pushed against a wall, check the opening direction in advance.

DigiMarket Advantage: Delivery and Assembly at Home
All DigiMarket beds are delivered in disassembled form — this is a key advantage for delivery to homes with small elevators and narrow staircases.
You don't need to worry about whether the bed fits in the elevator: our team assembles the furniture right at your home after delivery. This is a standard service included in the delivery price.
Because of this, most of our storage beds can be lifted without a crane and extra costs — even in old buildings without a service elevator.
