Chair for a schoolchild at a desk

A child doing homework sits for longer than an adult at dinner, and grows faster than the furniture wears out. So what matters here is not the price or the colour but the range of adjustment.

A rule you can check in a minute

Sit the child on the chair at their own desk and look at three points. The feet rest flat on the floor, neither dangling nor up on the toes. The knees are bent at roughly a right angle. The elbows rest easily on the desktop with no raised shoulders. If all three hold, the height is right. If the feet dangle while the elbows sit correctly, what is needed is a footrest, not a lower chair.
