Livorno chair bed – armchair by day, single bed by night

Livorno is not a recliner. It is a chair bed, which means a different usage logic. A recliner tilts the back for rest while staying a chair. A chair bed unfolds fully into a bed: with a mattress section, 190 cm long and 92 cm wide. This is a full single sleeping space.

Folded, Livorno occupies 95×92 cm – standard chair dimensions. So in a small apartment you get both a daytime chair and a night-time bed without sacrificing space. Natural fabric upholstery, two colours: grey and beige. Simple to maintain, no frills.

What you will like

Unfolds into a full bed – not "a nap for an hour" but normal sleeping – 190 cm length fits a person up to 185 cm tall
Mattress size 92×190 cm – standard single, you can use regular bedding
Folded – chair 95 cm wide – compact, not a "fake sofa" that takes up full-sofa space
Natural fabric upholstery – does not overheat in summer, does not "knock" when unfolding like faux leather
Steel frame with mechanism – standard folding – two spring levers, proven construction
Two neutral colours – grey and beige – both not "staining-prone", suit both classic and modern

Livorno is for those needing a real alternative to a bed in a small space. A student room, a rented studio, a small "guest room" that doubles as an office. Also fits if you often host overnight guests.

Frequently asked questions

How many seconds does it take to unfold Livorno?
About 8-12 seconds for an experienced user. Two-stage mechanism: first the back tilts to horizontal, then the leg section extends. The first few times are "harder" – springs not yet broken in; after 5-10 cycles it opens one-handed.

Can you sleep on Livorno every night?
You can, with one caveat. The mattress section is thinner than a full bed (about 14 cm vs 20-25 cm on a standard mattress), so for long-term nightly sleep, place a 5-7 cm topper on top. This solves the support question and extends mattress life.
