A NORICA wall mirror in a black frame with gold edging. A metre and a half across, with a LED strip inside the frame.

What it is put together from

The glass is carried by a frame of board in matt black, with gold edging round the outline. The strip hides inside the frame: the light spills outward onto the wall and draws the rectangle of the mirror in a soft line.

What it does to a room

Stretched out like that it pulls the wall wider and sends the daylight from an opposite window back into the room. The dark surround holds the edge, so the glass never melts into the plaster: it stays an object rather than a hole.

Overall size: 155 cm across, 4 cm from front to back, 80 cm tall.
