What it amounts to

A single plane with an upstand and a closed back. Twenty two centimetres of depth hold a book spine outward and stop small objects creeping toward the wall. The matt surface throws no glare, so what stands on the shelf shows better than the shelf itself.

How to use it

The shelf hangs over a unit, over a chest, or on its own. Against a pale wall a black line works as graphics: with no picture to hang, the shelf becomes the accent, especially carrying three or four objects rather than twenty.

Overall size: 140 cm across, 22 cm from front to back, 24 cm tall.
