Bondi folding armchair 62 cm, ash wood

Bondi armchair 62 cm – the back lowers, the seat slides forward

A narrow ash-wood armchair with a mechanism that does not work like an ordinary recliner: it lowers the back and at the same time slides the seat forward. The chair does not tilt backwards; it opens out into a place to lie down.

Who it suits

A room with no clearance behind the chair: the mechanism goes FORWARD rather than back, so the chair can stand flush. And anyone who sits by day and wants to stretch their legs in the evening without buying a second piece.

Size and what to keep in mind

This is the most compact chair in the collection: 62 by 76 cm, and folded it takes almost no room. The seat is shallow at 50 cm, an upright way of sitting: the chair is made to open out rather than to be sunk into. How far the seat slides out, the factory does not publish.

Fabric and finish

The upholstery is chosen from the full UNIMEBEL fabric catalogue, four groups to pick from. Full-size colour samples are on this page, and the price depends on the group.

Is this a recliner? No, the mechanism is different. A recliner tilts the back and lifts a footrest; here the back LOWERS and the seat slides forward. The practical difference: no clearance is needed behind the chair.

What wood are the parts made of? Ash, stated plainly in the factory price list for the whole Bondi collection. The colour is chosen from the UNIMEBEL range and carries a surcharge.

Delivery and assembly

Made by the Polish factory UNIMEBEL. We deliver and assemble it ourselves and take the packaging away. Delivery and assembly are paid separately and calculated for your address.

Frequently asked

Does the furniture arrive assembled?
No, it arrives packed and our fitters assemble it at your home. They take the packaging away.

Can you sleep on it?
The factory speaks of opening out but gives no sleeping dimensions in centimetres. We will not promise a night on it and will check with the supplier.

How does it differ from the Bondi rocking chair?
In the mechanism and the depth: the folding one is 76 cm, the rocker 88 cm. Across the front both are 62 cm.

Polish furniture in Israel: we deliver to Tel Aviv, Bat Yam and across the country, and settle the ash colour before you order.
