Furniture for a child room

Children furniture in Israel: beds, wardrobes, desks and school chairs

A child room differs from every other room in that its occupant changes faster than the furniture wears out.

What outlasts childhood and what does not

A 90x200 bed suits a six year old and a teenager alike: it is already adult sized, and only the bedding changes. A wardrobe and a chest also last the whole of childhood, because their contents are simply moved to a higher rail. A chair and a desk height, on the other hand, are outgrown within a year or two, which is why what you pay for here is the adjustment rather than the looks.

Sections

Section	What is inside
Children beds	From child size up to the adult 90x200.
Children wardrobes	With a rail lower than adult height, so a child can reach it.
Writing and computer desks	For homework and for the computer.
Chairs for schoolchildren	Height adjustable, matched to the child.
Children chests of drawers	Drawers at child level, with no high shelves.
Bunk beds	When there are two children and one room.
Children rooms	Complete sets from one collection.
Teen rooms	For a teenager: calmer in colour, more adult in size.

About a desk by the window. Light should fall from the left if the child is right handed and from the right if left handed, otherwise the writing hand casts a permanent shadow on the page. That matters more than the view, and it is the one constraint a desk lamp cannot fix afterwards.
