A large NAXXAR cabinet, 205 cm tall: a glazed column on the left and a closed one on the right. Lighting belongs to the set.

Two columns

The carcass splits vertically in two. The left column is the display: a pair of windows holding glass shelves over a dark back panel, with a solid inset between them. The leaves close on a quiet damper, which matters more in a display case than elsewhere: crockery behind glass does not chime shut. The right column closes behind a full height door and holds four tiers of shelves for what is kept rather than shown.

104.5 cm wide at 205 cm tall. This is the centrepiece of an arrangement: one cabinet like it replaces a pair of narrow ones and holds a wall by itself. Glass and solid fronts balance out, so it looks neither like a shop window nor like a blank cupboard.
