The door is divided across. Its upper field is glazed, with a glass shelf and a dark back panel behind it, so glasses, vases and keepsakes stand on show. The lower field stays solid and holds plain shelves for what needs no display. The split settles the old trouble with glazed cabinets: only the chosen few stay behind glass while the household things drop out of sight below.

Where it stands

64.5 cm across at 40 cm deep. The cabinet takes height rather than floor: it fits the narrow stretch between a window and a corner where wide furniture no longer goes, and still holds a good deal.
