JANTAR sideboard 160 cm with drawers: storage for two kinds of things

The same principle as the larger model, only twenty centimetres shorter. The drawers answer for small things, the doors for bulky ones, and the band between them breaks up the front. A difference of twenty centimetres sounds trivial, yet it is exactly what decides whether the chest will stand between a window and a corner. It rests on black metal legs.

Inside and out

a run of three drawers on one side of the band
a pair of doors on the other, everything behind them closed
band available four ways: oak, lacobel, marble HPL, lit amber
every front opens by the same recessed dark groove
the carcass rides clear of the floor on slim black supports
softened edges and an unbroken top surface

Who it suits

A bedroom: underwear and small things go into the drawers, bedding and pillows behind the doors. A child’s room, where some things must be reachable in one movement and others out of sight. A modest living room where 180 cm is already too much and 140 too little. Buying furniture online has long been ordinary in Israel, and this chest is ordered the same way.

Size and what fits

Width across the front 160 cm, depth 52 cm, height 77 cm. The drawers run the full depth of the carcass and take what usually lies in the wardrobe in piles. Behind the doors the compartment height allows things to stand upright rather than only lie flat.

Placing it

Seventy seven centimetres is the height at which changing a baby and unpacking the shopping are both comfortable. Wall space remains above: a mirror at this height is hung so its lower edge sits about twenty centimetres above the top. Drawers need clearance forwards, doors sideways.

Materials and finish

Oak does the work: solid where the load is, veneer where the plane is. Rustic oak tone, lacquered. From Poland, the MEBIN factory, one year warranty.

Frequently asked

Who delivers and sets it up?
Our fitters: we bring it and put it in place. The furniture is solid wood and heavy – check the doorway, stairs and lift in advance.

Is it suitable for a child’s room?
Yes. There are no handles on the outside and the carcass corners are rounded. Drawers are best not left pulled out, as with any furniture.

How much does it weigh?
The factory publishes no weight and we are checking. From experience an oak chest of this length is carried by two people.

More about this piece

Natural wood veneer

A thin slice of real timber over a panel. The grain differs from piece to piece; it looks and feels like wood while the panel underneath stays stable.

Solid wood

Parts cut from whole timber rather than board. Heavy and strong, it deepens in tone over the years and can be sanded and refinished.

Mirror panel

Set into a front or a door, it visually widens the room and adds light, which is why it turns up most often in hallways and bedrooms.

Lacquer finish

The surface is sealed with lacquer, which closes the pores and protects against moisture and stains. Available matt or glossy.

Metal supports

Metal legs or a frame carry weight better than plastic and do not work loose. On cabinet furniture the gap underneath also lets you clean below the piece.

Manufacturer warranty

The factory warranty runs 12 месяцев from delivery. It covers material and assembly defects, but not natural wear or damage caused by misuse.

Made in Poland

Shipped straight from the factory, built to European furniture manufacturing standards.
