FLY 51: a narrow band of glass along the run, Kaszmir

The same horizontal carcass of 160 by 30 at a depth of 29, but a band of glass crosses the front. It runs almost the full length of the flap, so the cupboard reads as a line of light rather than a closed box.

What it consists of

The glass on the front takes a band of 147.5 by 13.7 centimetres. Two compartments sit inside, the lighting is white and set behind the glass, so the glow shows with the flap closed. The front rises on gas stays and opens on a press.

Who it suits

For a living room that wants light on the wall without room for a tall cabinet. The band works above a unit carrying the screen, or on its own above the sofa. Another case is a dining area: glasses stand behind the glass, and in the evening the line of light replaces a wall lamp.
